Over the years, I have found myself inspired to write poetry. Each poem does carry a story behind it, but you'll have to ask me yourself if you are curious! Some of these works have been published both Domestically and Internationally.

"The Drift"                         January 2002

Drifting in my heart and mind

Memories of you there

The touch, the breath, the scent...lingers

Though you're no longer near

Tricks play in my mind and fantasies

Take me back to that place

Where secretly we shared a moment

Lost in time and lost in space

What would have been? Or what could be?

My loneliness fills the air.

Yet you're not mine and I'm not yours

We live another life elsewhere

The memories torment me! The passion burns!

Am all consumed with restless desire!

But I must let go now, in this moment of time

For my unfaithful heart I must expire

No one said love was fair

We live our own lives elsewhere

So I release the feelings deep inside I keep

And lead my heart back to the one who now beside me sleeps.

"Thanks Mom"                    April 2002

Mother my friend, my heart, and my soul

My anchor, my teacher

You’ve played all those roles.

My only thought is to repay you for all

The things that you’ve done-

All things great and small.

You are a treasure, a rare, precious jewel

A collector’s diamond, rare, shining and new.

Thank you for all that you’ve been to me

Your prayers and your tears-

You told me to be all I can be.

If I had all the gold in the world, that I would give you

If I had a big mansion, beside the big sea blue

If I had all the flowers, and birds in the trees

I would give them to you and then maybe you’d see

You are my mother, my heart and my soul

My anchor, my teacher

Thanks for making me whole.

For My Valentine                   May 2003

They Come and they Go

Are they really friends, or some sneaky foe?

We met by fluke, or was it fate?

Cause it was a random meeting

We set no date.

I’ve seen you up, I’ve seen you down

With a smile on your face

I’ve also seen a frown

So much pain and hurt inside

You’ve been used and abused and tossed aside

A life of drama and tragedy

No parents to claim you

You’re in search of some remedy

All life has to offer, All that you’ve known

Are pain and sadness

Sometimes wishing you had never been born

I’m here to tell you, They come and they go

Some steal your love and leave you in limbo

Some come and make their mark on your heart

Others, seem to want you, but too quickly depart.

What lies ahead? One day we’ll see

Meanwhile, let go of the past and be

Free to love, to laugh, to give

To smile, and gossip and really live

Don’t look behind or dwell on the past

Those are learning experiences

Not meant to last.

So many things about you are special

So unique and untouched

And you deserve to be loved as such.

Hold your head high, know who you are

You are a shining, beautiful star

Don’t settle for less, go catch your dreams

Find those golden, glistening streams

Don’t give up and don’t hold back

Find the good in the bad and stay on track

They come and they go, but I’m here to stay

To love you and lift you, DO come my way

Always a friend, Always a hand

Always a shoulder- Um, but I can’t be your Man

However, I offer

 You a new hope,

A light in the dark

When you’re at the end of your rope

Unconditional love, not wanting anything in return

Cause real friends, my dear, you soon will learn….

They come and they go, but the ones that count

Come with love and understanding in large amounts

Just a phone call away, or call out my name

No need to hide or be ashamed

You are my soul-friend, true to the core

And so very special to me, I couldn’t ask for more.

They come and they go

Oh yes, they do

But Valentine, know that I am ALWAYS here for you.

"The Waitress"                         November 2003

May your days be filled with warm sunshine

May your sleep be soft and sound

I pray today that God would bless you

And in your life that joy would abound!

Smile more!

"The One Who Got Away"                   May 2004

The Moment has passed

And so we part

I love and thank you

From the bottom of my heart.

"Start Again"                                    October 2004

One so frayed by his lost love

Deep inside a wound

Memories and heartache

Leave him in a cloud of gloom

Get up sweet man, and wipe the tears

Stand up and take your place

So good and so kind and sometimes naive

Now its time to run the race

Love is never lost

Sometimes it’s just hidden

Though not loudly professed

It walks a path less ridden

See past yourself

And old lovers gone

Open your eyes

And see no wrong

A brand new start

Your heart in your hand

A smile on your face

A hope for the promised land

Let’s step together

Let’s cut a new trail

Let’s laugh a cup of the good life

And get the wind back in your sail!

Ode to Maximus                                June 2009

Thanks for 7 great years Maximus. Maxipoo. Mack-a-doo

You were faithful, you were true

It's so sad that now you're away

We keep looking around for you to play

You saw us through the ups and downs

The laughs the giggles

The weeps the frowns

Fly up to Heaven and wait at the gate

And I'll join you one day if you'll just wait

Howl with the angels, bark at St. Mark

Walk, run and play in God's dog park

My first companion, you knew unconditional love

And God must have wanted you for Himself up above

I can't say I blame Him, He knows a real friend

But let Him know it's just a loaner until I ascend!
